Whilst the opportunity to inherit such a large portfolio of clients is a rarity, what makes this opportunity particularly exciting is that the incumbent Account Executive is retiring. As such, the account will not be ‘under attack’ post covenant, and you will benefit from a meaningful handover so you can really develop an understanding of the unique nuances of each client.
The portfolio stands at around £500K in fee income, and comprises corporate cases typically generating between £20K - £50K income. Clients are from a range of industry sectors, including well-known blue chips from the worlds of Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution / Transportation and Media.
With the focus being very much on the successful management of this long standing portfolio and achieving organic growth (as opposed to new business), you will be tasked with developing a sound understanding of your clients’ businesses. Using your expert knowledge of corporate insurance, you will ensure a robust insurance programme is delivered that comprehensively mitigates your clients’ exposure to risk.
Refreshingly, the Branch Director isn’t necessarily looking for a ‘dyed in the wool’ corporate insurance practitioner and welcomes applications from Account Executives who are currently managing less complex commercial portfolios. That said, it is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, such as Property, Liability, Directors & Officers, Commercial Combined, Professional Indemnity and Marine. Whilst by no means essential, progress made towards professional qualifications would add significant weight to your application.
