We are proud to have been retained to assist in the appointment of an experienced Account Handler to work from our client’s highly successful office in Lancashire.

This company has built an excellent reputation throughout the local area and is recognised as an expert within its field. Following a period of success, it is now seeking a talented hire to assist with the servicing and development of its existing client accounts.

You will proactively manage a mixed book of commercial business, taking specific responsibility for renewals, mid-term adjustments, the placement of new business, and on occasion, claims. Using your in-depth knowledge of the market and technical expertise, you will advise clients on their insurance requirements and design individual programmes to ensure risks are suitably covered.

Whilst this position is predominantly desk-based, some of the larger clients require personal visits, therefore you must be comfortable conducting client meetings. Due to the stringent nature of the industry, you will ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with statuary and in-house regulations.

It is crucial that you have experience within a commercial insurance broking environment and a sound working knowledge of a range of commercial products including Combined, Professional Indemnity, Liability and Package Insurance. Progress made towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute, whilst not essential, would certainly add weight to your application.

It is also imperative that you have first-rate communication skills, which will enable you to forge excellent working relationships with both existing and new clients. Whilst this position is predominantly geared towards servicing existing accounts, you also need to be confident in the placement of new business, as well as identifying cross-selling opportunities to existing customers. You must also be a team player, who can demonstrate flexibility and a strong track record of working to shared goals and objectives.
