Our client is a leading commercial broker with a strong presence throughout the UK. It has an opportunity for a Commercial Claims Handler in Sheffield.
The Claims Unit is responsible for handling claims from a diverse range of national industries. You will join a well-established and experienced claims team, where you will inherit a portfolio of clients and be responsible for handling these files from first intimation through to final conclusion. You will enjoy working with a variety of commercial risks, with the additional responsibility for some corporate clients. In addition, you will ensure that all databases and MI portals are kept as accurate and up to date as possible.
It is essential that you have a genuine passion for claims handling, and pride yourself on achieving the best possible settlement on behalf of your clients within the policy terms. As such, you must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, and be able to manage claims in a fair and expedient manner. As well as keeping the clients abreast of their claims progress, you will be expected to attend regular claims reviews, provide your expert opinion on the best course of action to resolve claims, and give advice on preventative measures in order to keep your clients’ costs to a minimum. This is anything but the typical ‘post box’ broker claims handling role.
It is essential that you have demonstrable experience of working in a commercial claims environment. Applications from those individuals with a broking, legal, insurance company, or adjusting background are welcomed.
