This outstanding commercial insurance broking and risk management specialist has a head office in the North West and another office in the City of London. It now seeks an experienced Risk Management specialist to provide risk control and other technical services to its commercial clients and specialist internal teams.

Although some brokers have a Risk Management offering, it is commonly outsourced or even promoted as an afterthought. Very few embrace Risk Management with any kind of real commitment but this broker recognises that offering its clients a bespoke Risk Management and Health & Safety programme is a crucial, value-added service, which helps mitigate the risk of claims thus reducing premium spend. It encourages all of its clients to undertake reviews of their policies by educating them of the features and benefits of a Risk Management programme in a consultative fashion, in contrast to the normal ‘hard sell’.

With a flexible working approach, you’ll report into and work from the Manchester based office with the flexibility to work from home when required too. You’ll be working with, and for some highly respected market professionals, and will provide a focused and accurate risk control function supporting the front-line Account Executives to develop, onboard and retain new business. An outstanding, in-house risk service has really been a differentiator for this broker and will continue to be so.

Your role will be to provide risk consulting services to a range of large commercial and corporate clients domiciled across the whole of the UK. You will support the clients’ own risk control functions and programmes, as well as assisting with the broking process with the production of market-leading risk surveys and presentations for Underwriters’ consideration.

Key responsibilities will also include undertaking property surveys, consulting on Health & Safety issues, and conducting site audits. In addition, you will also act as the lead consultant on major projects, as well as chairing meetings and delivering training at both operational and senior management level.

You will be a proven Surveyor/ Risk Control Specialist within the Casualty and Property insurance market, working on a diverse client portfolio. It would be advantageous if you have supporting qualifications, such as ACII and/ or relevant Risk Management and Health and Safety accreditations.
