Whilst this broker’s UK head office is based in the City, its thriving Real Estate Practice is based on Regent’s Park Road, just minutes’ walk from Finchley Central Station, and served by multiple bus routes, meaning North London-based insurance professionals can enjoy all the perks of working for a prestigious global, without the inconvenience of commuting into central London.

The Real Estate Practice is highly regarded for the technical expertise of its staff, and their ability to craft innovative insurance solutions. As such, this Practice is recognised by many ‘in the know’ as this sector’s ‘go-to Broker’. Its clients include private owners and developers, property / asset managers and funds; these are most commonly UK domiciled although there is a smaller portfolio of European based assets. Accounts vary in size and complexity, from £50K to £500K.

You will be responsible for the day to day servicing of an allocation of Real Estate risks, ensuring that the clients receive an exemplary level of service. Using your expert knowledge of the Real Estate market, you will scrutinise clients’ accounts, ensuring a robust insurance programme is delivered. Where possible, you will seek to identify opportunities to further mitigate your clients’ exposures to risk by promoting heightened covers and ancillary services such as risk management. As well as preparing renewals and dealing with any mid-term amendments arising within your portfolio, you will also be responsible for the marketing of any business (cases won by colleagues in the sales team), in line with group placement strategy. You will also be expected to help compile accurate, informative and professional reports and other documentation.

Whist you need not be currently working exclusively within the Real Estate and Commercial Property insurance niche, it is essential that you have previously handled similar risks. Given the corporate nature of clients, you must be highly professional in your approach, have excellent communication skills, and be confident in your ability to build rapport with ‘C Suite’ personnel at Financial Institutions and other large organisations. As you will be dealing with large businesses with complex insurance arrangements and be responsible for ensuring that multiple covers renew in a timely fashion, you must be meticulous, well-organised and have good task management skills.

It is anticipated that the salary will be up to £45K (Neg), although this is negotiable for outstanding candidates with extensive Real Estate / Commercial Property experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including support towards professional qualifications under the CII. Furthermore, you will also benefit from multiple opportunities for progression (into Account Executive, sales or managerial positions, for example) and a superb, dynamic working environment where there is a real sense of collaboration.
