The MD of this independent broker has worked hard to create a reputation for offering a first class-client service, as well as a fantastic working environment for employees. As a result, the business enjoys impressive client retention and is known for having a low staff turnover.

Working in a friendly and supportive team of five, you will be dealing with a diverse portfolio of longstanding clients from a range of industry sectors such as Property Owners, Leisure, Tradespeople and Retailers. Clients are typically SME’s and middle-market accounts paying premiums up to around £20K, although there are a few notable exceptions of much larger cases.

You will be responsible for building a professional rapport with clients, ensuring that you develop a solid understanding of their businesses and the risks that they face. You will be responsible for ensuring that each client’s insurance programme is suited to their unique needs, and where gaps in cover do exist, you will seek to remedy these. You will deal with renewals, mid-term amendments, and answer any day to day enquires that arise. As this is a small, close-knit team, you will also be expected to undertake any other tasks that may arise, and be willing to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and deal with anything to ensure the business runs smoothly and that clients receive superb service.

Whilst it is not a prerequisite that you have handled larger, middle-market accounts, it is essential that you have some exposure to commercial insurance, and we welcome applications from candidates from broking and underwriting backgrounds. You should have excellent communication skills and be confident in your ability to deal with clients from all industry sectors. You must be well-organised and have excellent task management skills. As this is a small business, you must be a real team player who enjoys working to shared goals and objectives, and you’ll also be very ethical with a strong moral compass.

In return, you will receive a basic salary of £20K-23K plus a range of company benefits, including support towards professional qualifications.
