This leading insurance specialist has a network of home-based Property Loss Adjusters across the UK and now seeks to appoint a Lead Adjuster to co-ordinate and technically manage this team, and to be responsible for their own complex caseload too.
With instructions coming in from a varied property claims portfolio that includes Property Owners, Commercial Property, Block of Flats and much more, you’ll be able to quickly become familiar with the various wordings and will be able to tailor your, and your team’s, reports accordingly.
As the Lead/ Senior individual in the team, you’ll have oversight and daily management of all reports, signing these off before formal submission to the instructing Case Handlers. You’ll use your knowledge and expertise to use these reports as a coaching tool to develop your team’s technical knowledge and competence, highlighting areas for improvement and training, where appropriate.
It goes without saying that you’ll be comfortable on site, not only to investigate and validate claims but to also provide crucial support and empathy to policyholders. You’ll be experienced in the identification of fraud triggers too, and will be comfortable undertaking detailed investigations as required.
Finally, you’ll be an accomplished interpreter of policy conditions, and happy to translate some of the more technical aspects of these; verbally to less-experienced colleagues, and instructing Claims Handlers in written word via your detailed reports. Your opinion and recommendations will be highly valued when it comes to contentious issues and liability discussions.
Proven field-based, claims investigation experience is absolutely key here, and it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate experience of large/ complex losses and mentoring less-experienced colleagues too. Whilst this is a home-based role, Head Office is in Nottingham city centre and there will be a requirement to be visible there on a regular basis, perhaps weekly initially. You’ll have the gravitas to become a natural referral point, and ideally this will be underpinned with DIP CILA or DIP CII qualifications.
