With responsibility for leading a team of up to 8 motivated and driven Underwriters, you’ll lead, coach and develop them to become the best that they can be. Using your proven managerial skills, you’ll be responsible for work allocation, setting and monitoring KPIs and SMART objectives, and reviewing them regularly in a one to one environment. These operational skills will of course be underpinned by a strong technical understanding of Household Insurance and in your role, you’ll be comfortable fielding technical queries from within your team and from your sub-broker partners too. You’ll also “carry the pen” and on occasion, be involved in underwriting more complex and discreet risks, when required.
With a focus on new business, it is essential that you can demonstrate the ability to build lasting relationships with broker partners.
