Impressive levels of growth, new business wins and internal progression at this highly respected MGA has driven the need for an additional Underwriter to join its New Business team that underwrites a variety of standard and non-standard UK Household risks.
Handling new business enquiries via proposals from your panel of introducing brokers, you’ll be responsible for analysing each risk, determining policy terms and calculating premiums on the basis of actuarial, statistical and background information. Using your problem-solving and trading skills, you’ll identify and profitably underwrite risks to suit the appetite and objectives of the business.
In this exciting role, you’ll work within your own allocated Underwriting Authority and will have to report into your Team Leader, but you will be empowered to make your decisions, offering quotations and accepting risks, when appropriate. There will be a wealth of in-house expertise and experience to call upon when technical guidance and advice is required too.
With a minimum of 2 years’ Household/ Home underwriting experience gained from within
an insurer, MGA or broker under delegated authority, you’ll be driven to provide an outstanding and profitable underwriting service at all times. The ability to build strong working relationships will be key as you’ll regularly be in liaison with brokers, carriers and inter-departmental colleagues.
