Our client is a leading UK wholesale underwriting agency that offers its extensive portfolio of intermediary trading partners a comprehensive suite of general insurance products that encompasses both wheels and non-wheels based insurances for commercial and personal lines customers. As part of its commitment to developing its presence throughout the UK, and to provide further market penetration, it now seeks to appoint a Broker Development Manager to join its field-based team.
In this home-based role, you will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of brokers in London and the South of England, and will be tasked with driving business and increased product penetration across the whole mix. With many of the existing agencies potentially only trading in one or two products, this is a superb opportunity for an accomplished BDM like yourself to quickly add value and income. This outstanding business offers the ability to trade directly online, via the broker’s preferred market technology, or in person with the dedicated contact centre, thus ensuring there are no barriers to progress at all.
Refreshingly, there is no expectation to bring on new agencies or broker trading partners in this role as everything is in place for you to pick up and run with. The existing client bank consists of everything from one-man bands through to the local branches of the major national insurance broking chains.
It is essential that you can demonstrate proven success in a similar broker-facing role. You’ll have an excellent knowledge of the regional geography and will be familiar with the insurance broking landscape. Ideally, you will be well-networked and essentially, you’ll have the ability to influence both at board level, but also at the “coal face” too.
