This well-established and highly-rated firm has enjoyed considerable success over the past 5 years to employ 45 Mortgage Advisers. The firm took on 18 brokers last year and has plans to take on another 10-20 this year as well, all based across the UK. The firm is in the process of taking on new business with several new build developers in Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire, and as a result, it’s looking to expand its network of self-employed Mortgage and Protection Advisors that are based in the South-West of the UK.
There is a lot of business to work on with this opportunity. The self-employed Mortgage Brokers have access to a stream of high-quality leads fed to them on a regular basis from various New Build sites – each SE Broker can expect to have 3 New Build sites assigned to them, from which you can expect to receive 2-10 leads per week. 85% of customers from these assigned New Build sites will come directly to you, so you can expect to be very busy in this role and be working with a large number of clients on a regular basis. Top Mortgage Advisers are writing around 250-300 mortgages a year at this firm, and you can expect to realistically earn £55K purely from mortgages in the first year. If you write Protection as well, you can expect to take home an extra £20K on top of that £55K! You can expect to earn around £65K by year 2, and £85K - £100K for years 3 & 4 once remortgages kick in.
Whilst this is a self-employed role, this mortgage brokerage is able to provide financial assistance, in the form of advanced commissions, where this can be paid back fairly afterwards so that you are still able to receive sizeable commissions moving forward.
Good availability at weekends will be a requirement in this role, as you’ll be working 1 in 2 weekends. But on the positive side, you’ll be home-based and will be taking inbound enquiries through phone and email and won’t be expected to meet clients or travel to the New Build sites. You may also get time off in-lieu mid-week.
As expected, you must be CeMAP qualified (or equivalent), with a successful track record of writing compliant mortgage and protection business. You’ll possess strong relationship management skills and the ability to work on your own initiative, as this is a home-based, self-employed role.
Candidates from a Banking/ Building Society capacity won’t be considered unfortunately, as this firm needs brokers with “whole of market” / independent experience. You don’t have to have had prior experience dealing with New Build mortgages as full training will be provided. The 3 sites you’ll be overseeing are very local to one another, and will be a reasonable distance from your home.
