This is a rare opportunity to inherit a £300K commission and fee income portfolio with one of the most respected firms in the Yorkshire market.
This broker has been has been granted the prestigious ‘Chartered Status’ by the CII, so it seeks an Account Executive who shares its commitment to delivering the highest levels of professionalism and client service.
Whilst this broker has built a fine reputation over many years, it has always continued to evolve, keep abreast of the latest innovations and challenge the status quo. As such, it welcomes applications from seasoned Senior Account Executives and also experienced Commercial Brokers / Account Handlers who are looking to make their first move into an Account Exec’ style position. In this instance, it is likely that the portfolio will be adjusted to reflect your experience and abilities. The portfolio comprises clients from a wide range of industry sectors such as Manufacturing, Wholesale and Distribution. Clients vary in size and complexity, with individual risks generating between £2,000 and £30,0000.
You will be granted a great deal of autonomy in how you run your desk; for example, you will not be required to check into the office daily and there is no pressure from above to place business in preferred markets etc.
Developing a sound understanding of your clients’ businesses, you will design a robust insurance programme that mitigates their exposure to risks. You will negotiate with Underwriters to ensure you achieve comprehensive cover and competitive premiums on your clients’ behalf. You will be assisted in the day to day running of this portfolio with the support of several Account Handlers who will do a lot of the basic policy administration such as MTA’s, answering queries and issuing documentation.
Whilst our client welcomes applications from candidates from all stages of their insurance career, it is essential that you have a solid background within commercial insurance, and are au fait with all common commercial covers. You must be comfortable working in a client facing capacity, and confident in your ability to build professional rapport with clients from all industry sectors, both blue and white collar.
As you would expect from a Chartered brokerage, this firm is particularly keen to hear from those candidates who have made progress towards professional qualifications under the CII, or can demonstrate a genuine willingness to do so in in the near future.
