A superb opportunity has arisen in the Private Clients Division of one of the most prestigious brokers in the UK. This opportunity boasts a high degree of flexibility in regards to working from home, both during and after the pandemic, and our client is keen for someone to join the business ASAP – ideally ‘onboarding’ the successful candidate whilst we are still in lockdown.
This brokerage has a national footprint, and controls over £400M in premium. Its Private Client Division arranges insurance on behalf of a fascinating array of clients, including HNW & Ultra HNW personnel from the worlds of business, sports and entertainment.
You will manage a varied caseload of files that could relate to any kind of personal lines insurance such as Motor, Home, Travel, Fine Art & Jewellery or Yacht claims. You will handle claims on a ‘cradle to grave’ basis, keeping the insured updated on the progresses of their claim throughout the process. Using your strong negotiation skills, you will ensure that an exceptional service is delivered to each and every client, and that any claims are settled quickly and favourably. When necessary, this will include visiting clients at their home, business premises or place of loss, to ensure they have all the facts in order to achieve the best possible settlement.
You will build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including colleagues from throughout the business, clients, loss adjusters and insurance company staff.
In order to be ahead of the game and ensure your technical knowledge is up to date, you must keep abreast of case law and changes in legislation, as well as continually learning about new products and markets.
As a senior member of the team, you will provide coaching and ad hoc advice to the Claims Team and, where appropriate, colleagues in other areas of the business. As you will be responsible for securing settlement of claims and, when necessary challenging insurer decisions on liability, you must have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You must be able to demonstrate empathy with people who have suffered a claim and be able to build a professional rapport with wealthy individuals from all walks of life, both ‘old and new money.’
You must have a solid background in claims handling (gained in either a broking, underwriting or adjusting environment) and ideally have knowledge of HNW products. Our client is particularly keen to hear from candidates who have already made significant progress towards professional qualifications.
You must be a lateral thinker who can apply creativity to solve problems and ‘think outside of the box’ to achieve your desired result.
Whilst this role can be either office or home based, there will be an expectation in the longer term that you can pop into the office once or twice a week. As such, this role will surely appeal to claims professionals from across Essex, East London, Northern Kent and surrounding areas.
You will receive a basic salary of between £25K - £36K (negotiable, depending on experience) a bonus that factors in both company and personal performance, 25 days holiday (increasing in future years), a company pension, life assurance and support towards professional qualifications under the CII.
