This broker has undergone an exciting period of change in recent years, and is performing tremendously as a result. It is financially-secure, and is led by an experienced Management Team who are committed to retaining its independence. The company has a varied portfolio of clients, based both in the UK and overseas, from such industry sectors such Financial Institutions, Construction and Healthcare, as well as private individuals.

To ensure that its renowned client service levels are maintained, the need has arisen to appoint an experienced Claims Handler. Here, you will enjoy handling a varied caseload of claims, including Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Business Interruption, Fine Art & High Net Worth losses. A naturally curious problem solver, you will explore the circumstances of each and every claim, conducting thorough investigations in order to secure the best possible settlement under the terms of the policy. As you would expect, this will include negotiating with insurers and occasionally challenging their decisions where claims are repudiated.

You will maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, and on occasion, you will visit claimants at their premises, or attend meetings with insurers, loss adjusters and surveyors. You will also be expected to produce a variety of reports in a timely, accurate and compliant fashion, as well as issue cheques, proposals, endorsements and schedules.

It is essential that you are an experienced Claims Handler, and au fait with a wide variety of losses (spanning both commercial and personal lines insurance). This should specifically include an understanding of the Lloyd’s & London market, its structure, practices and procedures, including systems (such as ECF). This must extend to knowledge of the UK binding authority processes and relevant documentation.

You must be a team player, who enjoys working to shared goals and objectives and strives to deliver great results for the business. You must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and be able to build rapport with stakeholders from all walks of life, based across the globe.

You must pride yourself on keeping abreast of market developments, competitor activity and claims trends. This should include continuous professional development (ideally you will have made significant progress towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute).

This role is based in this firm’s state of the art offices in the City of London, but for outstanding candidates, there may be some scope for flexible working arrangements and spending a portion of your week working at home.
