In a turbulent world, this global broking powerhouse’s independence gives it a real competitive edge. Having maintained double-digit growth globally, nationally and locally for many years, it even delivered ‘above target results’ despite the downturn. The company now generates revenue of £1.5Bn and, being so financially-secure, is proud to announce that during lockdown, it has not made a single role redundant or put any employees on furlough leave globally.

The Birmingham branch is well-known locally for its strong management team, and is home to many of the region’s most talented insurance professionals. It controls the insurance programmes of clients from a wide range of industry sectors, including big names from the world of Food & Beverage, Automotive and Retail.

This role sits within the Branch’s Major Risks Practice, a specialist team that deals with some of the UK’s largest insurance programmes outside of the City of London. These include UK domiciled accounts with complex global exposures, as well as reverse flow business pertaining to the UK elements of cover for some of the world’s best known businesses. As you would expect, these organisations have non-conventional programmes and require input from expert Brokers from our client’s global offices (such as Aviation, Credit Insurance or Med Mal’ specialists).

Here, you will assume control of a varied portfolio of corporate clients that generate in excess of £750K fee income, with individual accounts generating revenue of £50K - £200K. This portfolio is likely to include both global outward and reverse flow business, and clients will face a myriad of complex risks, such as supply chain and business continuity issues.

The focus on this role is very much about the ongoing management of these longstanding clients (as opposed to generating new business), so you will be tasked with developing an excellent rapport with stakeholders and unrivalled knowledge of your clients’ businesses. You will analyse their insurance programmes, ensuring that they comprehensively cover any exposures, and where gaps exist, you will work with specialist colleagues to create innovative solutions to mitigate these.

It is essential that you have extensive experience as a Corporate Account Executive. Whilst this need not include dealing with six-figure fee income cases, it should include complex risks and clients with some global exposures (either global outward or reverse flow).

You must be a polished communicator, with superb negotiation and influencing skills, able to lead conversations and educate C-Suite personnel as to the nuances of their businesses’ exposures to risks. You be highly numerate, able to collect various data and comfortable in producing a variety of detailed reports. Whilst not a deal breaker, it is anticipated that you are ACII qualified, or well on your way to achieving this.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (which is anticipated to be circa £75K, but can be negotiated higher for outstanding candidates) plus car allowance, bonus and a comprehensive range of ‘flexible’ benefits.
