Due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, this leading global broking house seeks to add technical fire power to its Corporate Unit through the appointment of a talented Account Handler / Broker.
This broker provides all colleagues with a laptop and mobile, and encourages them to work from home a couple of days per week (this may be increased in time). Furthermore, the company is well known for ‘promoting from within’, and several other employees who joined the team in similar roles have now progressed into Account Executive-style roles within the business.
Here, you will play a key role in the successful management of a portfolio of corporate clients. These accounts generate fees of at least £15K, and potentially up to and exceeding six-figure income. Clients are from a wide variety of industry sectors, such as Retail, Media, Distribution and Technology. Several of these clients may have complex oversees exposures, so you will benefit from dealing with colleagues and client teams across the globe.
You will support Corporate Account Executives and Directors by managing their portfolios throughout their policy lifecycles. This will include liaising with clients, scrutinising their businesses to identify exposure to risks, and negotiating with insurers to ensure these are comprehensively mitigated and priced with competitive premiums. You will produce accurate, informative and compliant documents, and deal with any mid-terms or other policy administration, as required.
Whilst it is essential that you have experience of dealing with all common commercial lines (including Property, Liability, Cyber, D&O and PI) it is not a prerequisite that you have dealt with global or corporate cases. As such, we welcome applications from talented Commercial Account Handlers from national and regional brokers who are comfortable with say, £5-10K income cases.
You must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), a keen eye for detail, and be very professional in your approach.
It is anticipated that you are ACII qualified or have made significant progress towards professional qualifications under the CII. However, we welcome applications from outstanding candidates who have chosen not to pursue these.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (negotiable, but anticipated to be in the region of £30K - £40K), a competitive ‘flexible’ benefits package, impressive pension contributions and support towards professional qualifications. Our client is based in Leeds city centre close to the train station, and as it offers working from home several days per week, this role will no doubt appeal to candidates from across Yorkshire and into Lancashire.
