Headed by a highly dynamic management team, this independent broker is enjoying a sustained period of growth, as evidenced by the acquisition of quality talent at all levels in recent months. This trend is set to continue through the appointment of an additional Senior Account Handler to join the Corporate Team.

With a state of the art, spacious office, this brokerage has gone to great lengths to ensure the safety and well-being of all its staff during the current pandemic. Many of its team are currently working from home, and the office has been adapted so that those who are working on site can do so in a socially-distant fashion that complies with all government regulations.

This broker has a long-established portfolio of accounts, including some very prestigious clients with premium spends in excess of several hundred thousand pounds. Its clients come from every conceivable sector, both blue and white collar, but it’s fair to say there is a bias in the portfolio of clients from higher liability industries such as Construction, Distribution and Engineering.

As a senior member of the team, you will provide a high level of support to several Account Executives and Directors. This includes handling existing business, and broking new business on occasion too. Whilst not a management position, you will lend your expertise to less-experienced colleagues on an ad hoc basis and sometimes deputise in the absence of the line manager.

It is imperative that you have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to confidently negotiate with insurers on your clients’ behalves. It is also essential that you have extensive experience within commercial insurance, ideally gained from within a broking background. This experience must include a working knowledge of all common commercial lines such as Property, Liability, Fleet, D&O and Professional Indemnity. We are particularly interested in hearing from those candidates whose practical knowledge is backed up by professional qualifications under the CII.

Our client offers a competitive basic salary, support towards professional qualifications, and a thriving working environment, where it is entirely feasible for hardworking candidates to get promoted into technical, managerial or sales-orientated roles.
