This is a superb opportunity to join a thriving broking house in a senior capacity, with the added security of inheriting a £200K inherited portfolio of commercial accounts. This longstanding portfolio is currently being managed by an Account Executive who is retiring, and therefore won’t be ‘under attack’ post-covenant.
Our client is a respected name in the South Yorkshire broking community, and it has a fine reputation and stable management team. It’s known locally as a great place to work, with a friendly ‘team centric’ environment where colleagues enjoy working to shared goals and objectives – there’s no dramas and egos here, just a professional team who work hard, get the job done and have a good time whilst doing so. Whilst there is no requirement to undertake managerial tasks in time, we do particularly welcome applications from candidates who have medium-term aspirations to grow within the role and develop more operational and managerial duties within the firm.
Benefiting from a warm handover from the departing Account Executive, you will assume control of the portfolio of accounts that vary in size and complexity. Accounts are from a variety of industry sectors, both blue and white collar. The focus of this role is very much on the successful management of this is existing portfolio, ensuring that it is retained and the clients continue to receive the first-class level of service that they have been become accustomed to. As you will be a senior member of the team, you may also be expected to help less-experienced colleagues on an ad hoc basis.
It is essential that you are an experienced Account Executive with a sound working knowledge of all common commercial covers such as Property, Liability, D&O, PI and Cyber. You should be comfortable advising clients from a wide range of industry sectors such as Manufacturing, Engineering and the Professions. Given this business’ reputation for having a friendly and supportive environment, you must be a team player and pride yourself on being ‘low maintenance’. Previous experience of working as a senior A/E (such as deputising in the absence of the line manager) would add weight to the application of anyone who wishes to pursue managerial opportunities in the medium- term. Whilst not essential, progress made towards professional qualifications would certainly be advantageous.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (entirely negotiable, but depending on experience, likely to be £40-60K) plus car allowance, personal bonus and an impressive array of company benefits.
