With a strong national presence spanning the Farming, Estates, Rural Business and Equestrian insurance sectors, this brokerage is well-placed to support those who live and work in agricultural communities. From smallholders through to blue chips, its portfolio includes clients focused solely on pastoral or arable agriculture, as well as farms that are highly diversified into the green energy and leisure sectors, for example. It also arranges insurance of a diverse portfolio of rural business that supports the agricultural sector, such as specialist motor traders, food & beverage manufactures and wholesalers.
Due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, the need has arisen to appoint an experienced Account Executive to inherit a six-figure portfolio of farm accounts. Given the nature of the sector, this covers a large territory and as such, you will be granted a great deal of autonomy as to how you will run your desk. You will build up a strong rapport with your clients, developing a deep understanding of their businesses as they stand, and also the risks that they are likely face over the coming years in this fascinating, ever-changing market. Working with a dedicated team of Agricultural Insurance Brokers, you will help design an insurance programme that is both cost effective and adequately mitigates these exposures. To aid you in this, you will benefit from longstanding trading relationships with mainstream agricultural insurers, specialist carriers and MGA’s, including exclusive access to unique products.
You will also help promote the business in rural communities, for example attending trade shows, auctions, country fairs and other agricultural events. Whilst the focus on this position is very much on the management of existing accounts, you would also be encouraged to develop new business from within your network.
It is essential that you are an experienced insurance professional, ideally already working as an Agricultural or Farm Account Executive, although we most certainly welcome applications from candidates such as Agricultural Account Handlers looking to secure their first client-facing role, or from Commercial Account Executives who have a strong affinity with rural communities. You must be have a genuine passion for agriculture and the countryside, and be able to get on with people from all walks of life in these areas – from the landed gentry through to smallholders of more humble means!
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (completely negotiable depending on experience), car allowance, performance-related bonus and a comprehensive range of company benefits. You will also receive support towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
