This premier corporate insurance global broking house has a rare and exciting opportunity for an established Risk Manager to be home-based in Yorkshire, Derbyshire or the Midlands, and covering a territory spanning Leeds to Birmingham.
Although numerous brokers across the UK have a Risk Management offering, this is often outsourced or promoted as an afterthought. Very few brokers have embraced Risk Management with the same level of commitment as this forward-thinking corporate.
This global broker recognises that offering its clients a bespoke Risk Management and Health & Safety programme is a value-added service, which helps mitigate the risk of claims that can be so costly, disruptive and time consuming for a business. It encourages all of its clients to undertake reviews of its Risk Management policies by educating them of the features and benefits of such programmes in a consultative fashion, as opposed to resorting to the ‘hard sell.’
This is a varied and challenging role with a diverse portfolio of risks, where your aim will be to offer your clients a ‘one-stop shop.’ Expect to be dealing with clients from a range of industries such as Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing, Retail, Haulage, Real Estate, Property Owners, Motor Trade and Haulage. In addition, you will be tasked with the delivery of a range of services, including Fire Safety and Prevention, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Fleet Management, Environmental Risk and Training. Whilst this is not a sales role, you will attend insurer tender presentations to promote the Health & Safety offering to prospective clients.
It is essential that you possess relevant professional qualifications and extensive experience within Risk Management, ideally gained from within another broker, or within the insurance market if the experience is from a consultative role. It is also imperative that you have some exposure to undertaking Property and Liability surveys, as well as demonstrable working knowledge of the UK General Insurance market. This will be a home-based position, with regular attendance at the local office. You will manage your own diary, which will see you working both regionally and throughout the UK.
