Due to the forthcoming retirement of a senior member of the Corporate Division, this global broker is seeking to appoint a Corporate Account Executive to inherit a substantial portfolio of clients.
Here you will benefit from a warm handover from the departing Account Executive and, needless to say, as they are retiring it will not be ‘under attack’ in 12 months. This six-figure portfolio comprises long-standing clients from a range of industry sectors, each typically generating £10K-£20K in fees.
For many years, this forward-thinking brokerage has been an advocate of flexible working and has the technology and infrastructure in place to allow colleagues to flourish whilst working from home. Your portfolio of clients will be based across Yorkshire and surrounding areas, and you will only be needed in the office occasionally, so this role is likely to appeal to experienced Account Executives based from the Midlands to Teesside.
The focus of this role is very much on the management of existing business, with very realistic targets in place for account development – this should be readily achievable through the organic growth of your account and a very small amount of new business. In this regard, you will benefit from the services of an inhouse ‘Contact Manager’ who acts in a lead generation and appointment-setting capacity for the Account Executive Team.
Whilst this role is replacing a Senior Account Executive dealing with £10K+ income cases, it is not a prerequisite that you are currently working in a similar capacity. However, it is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of all common commercial covers and have dealt with some middle-market business as a minimum. As some of your clients have overseas operations, you will ideally have some exposure to dealing with global accounts. With a high degree of business acumen and a keen eye for detail, you must pride yourself on your ability to design a robust insurance programme that adequately mitigates your clients’ exposures to risks. You should also have the negotiation skills to ensure that this comprehensive level of cover is achieved at a competitive premium! As you would expect, progress made towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute would add weight to your application.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (completely negotiable, but anticipated to be £40K-£70K, depending on experience) plus car allowance, lucrative bonus and an impressive ‘flexible’ benefits package that can be tweaked to suit your own requirements.
