Whilst still run by the same family that established it several generations ago, this respected broking house is going through an exciting period of change and is investing massively in its future.
This firm has a presence in several key cities across the UK and boasts considerable buying power with a range of composite insurers and specialist markets. Its portfolio comprises cases from all industry sectors, but it is fair to say this broker is recognised as a market-leader when it comes to the cleaner end of higher liability trades. For example, many of its clients are well-managed Haulage, Engineering and Construction firms.
As part of its plan for growth, it seeks to appoint a Regional Account Executive to further bolster its presence in Glasgow and the surrounding areas; an area that it has successfully traded in for many years.
This broker is part of a wider group of companies, and you will be tasked with developing a portfolio of commercial clients that already receive professional services from other areas of the business. As such, this is a much easier and more straight forward ‘sell’ than many competing Account Executive roles as your prospects already know and trade with the group – often speaking to your colleagues in the sister company on a weekly basis! Indeed, such is the depth of the relationship between your prospects and the wider group, every month you can expect to be provided with 10 qualified appointments with key decision makers and be furnished with detailed information on the prospects (financial information, fleet sizes, key renewal info etc.)
Our client welcomes applications from candidates who want to work in either a pure new business capacity (with clients won passed on to the Servicing Team), or those who wish to retain control of the clients and build up a portfolio.
It is worth stressing that you will be granted a great deal of autonomy about how you manage your diary. You will not be micromanaged and will be free to plan your working week as you see best.
It is essential that you have a solid background within insurance, together with an understanding of all common commercial covers such as Property, Liability, Fleet, PI and D&O. Ideally, this experience will have been gained in a broking environment and you will have dealt with clients from more blue-collar sectors such as Contractors, Groundworkers and Haulage. Needless to say, you should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of sales and working in a targeted environment. Whilst not essential, progress made towards professional qualifications would add significant weight to your application.
You will benefit from a basic salary (entirely negotiable but anticipated to be in the region of £40K-50K), a generous bonus scheme that provides on target earnings of £75K and a range of company benefits including car / allowance.
