The need has arisen for an additional Account Handler to join the friendly and supportive team. Here, you will be responsible for the day to day servicing of existing accounts. It is likely to be a varied portfolio that you will be working on, although there is scope to tweak your allocation depending on your skills, experience and ambitions. You will work alongside Account Executives, Directors and Brokers, dealing with mid-term amendments, preparing a variety of reports and associated documentation, and handling general enquiries. You will scrutinise the businesses within your portfolio, evaluating their exposure to risk, and where gaps in cover exist, you will help to educate them as to how best mitigate these.
Whilst you need not be currently dealing exclusively with corporate risks paying fees of £10K-£100K it is essential that you have some exposure to middle-market clients generating brokerage income of circa £5K+. It is essential that you understand all the common commercial covers and are comfortable in dealing with clients from a variety of industry sectors. Ideally, you will have made some progress towards professional qualifications under the CII.
It is essential that you are a confident, articulate communicator who is able to manage relationships with stakeholders from a variety of walks of life. You must also be well-organised, able to prioritise a number of tasks, and have a keen eye for detail.
This role will be a remote-working position initially, and is likely to have a high degree of flexibility in the longer-term. However, it is essential that you live close enough to be able to attend meetings in Birmingham city centre occasionally (sometimes at relatively short notice).
