Our client is a boutique practice, recognised as key players in the sector, and controlling some of the most coveted insurance programmes in the niche – many of which they have looked after since their inception and have now become PLC’s with a presence across the globe.
Here, you will provide a high level of support to one of the niche’s most respected insurance professionals and deal with clients from such sectors as Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Computer Gaming, Tech & Communications. Clients range in size from cutting-edge firms still in University ‘incubator’ units, through to publicly-listed companies who now have sales offices or manufacturing plants in the US or Far East.
Developing a detailed knowledge of the risks faced by clients in this fascinating niche, you will help create your clients an insurance programme that continually mitigates potential exposures in an ever-changing landscape. Where clients have global exposures, you will also work with reciprocal brokers to ensure maximum overseas coverage. As well as dealing with mid-term amendments, you will be heavily involved in the renewal process, and also help market any new business cases won by your colleagues.
Whilst we do not expect candidates to come from a Science & Tech background, a keen interest in the sector, or some relevant academic experience would add weight to your application. It is however essential that you are an experienced Commercial Account Manager, Handler or Broker with knowledge of such lines as Property, Liability, PI, D&O and Commercial Combined.
We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have made progress towards professional qualifications, but will certainly entertain applications from candidates who have chosen not to proceed with these.
You must pride yourself on keeping abreast of changes in this fast-paced sector, and aspire to become a market-leader in the niche. Given the nature of this role, you could be dealing with gaming or social media entrepreneurs, or senior academics from Oxbridge. Therefore, you must be confident in your ability to both secure ‘buy-in’ and also relay complex risk information to people from all walks of life.
This firm’s staff are currently all working remotely, and are likely to be doing so for the foreseeable. It is envisioned that a high degree of flexibility will remain as lockdown eases.
