Here, you will work in close conjunction with Account Directors from the wider corporate business (who oversee the non-Management Liability covers) and take the lead in the management of clients’ Financial Lines programmes. You will assume control of an existing portfolio of clients, predominantly from the worlds of Real Estate and Construction, but also comprising a small amount of risks from other areas of the traditional professions. Clients range in size and make-up, from relatively small Contracting risks with sub six figure gross written premiums, through to much more complex, multi-million pound premium construction firms with global exposures that are working on some of the highest profile construction developments on the planet.
You will be responsible for managing client relations from a PI/ Financial Lines perspective, including scrutinising their current programmes and future exposure to risks and, where potential gaps in cover exist, developing innovative solutions to mitigate these. You will strive to continually develop your clients’ robust insurance programmes, and be in charge of the placement of clients’ financial lines policies, using your well-honed negotiation skills to secure them the most comprehensive levels of cover at a competitive price.
As you would expect, this is a senior position and you will be aided in your endeavours with the support of a dedicated team of Brokers, Account Handlers and Claims Executives who will support you in relation to mid-term amendments, dealing with renewals, preparing reports and documentation, as well as in the event of a loss.
Our client has fully embraced the ‘working from home’ ethos, and welcomes applications from candidates based anywhere in the UK who can visit the regional offices occasionally. Moving forward, most client meetings will be held virtually, however you would be expected to visit them on site occasionally - you will be responsible for managing your own diary in this regard.
It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of the Financial Lines market, and ideally exposure to dealing with clients from the Construction arena, more specifically. It is not essential that you are currently working in an Account Executive capacity, and we are keen to hear from Claims Executives, Loss Adjusters, Underwriters with the relative experience, as well as PI Account Handlers and Brokers who are willing to take that next step in their career. Ideally, you will have made some progress towards professional qualifications under the CII but this is by no means a deal-breaker. The ability to demonstrate a genuine commitment to keeping abreast of developments in the fast-moving PI & Construction sectors would certainly add weight to your application.
