Recognising that the world of business is changing at a rapid pace, the MD of this global broking house’s City office has decided to do things differently. Replicating the fast-moving world in which we live, he has instilled a real focus on innovation and looking at new processes, whilst still retaining an emphasis on delivering the highest level of client service.

This fresh perspective extends to the acquisition of personnel; rather than simply ‘filling roles’ the MD has been given carte blanch to “find the best in the market and employ them.” He welcomes applications from talented insurance professionals from all walks of life, including those high-achieving Account Executives who perhaps don’t see themselves as fitting the traditional, London Market mould.

This approach is certainly reaping rewards, and the City operation is achieving fantastic results, whether this be the acquisition of new high-profile accounts, the organic growth of the existing portfolio, or on its client satisfaction surveys.

As such, the need has arisen to appoint a Corporate Account Executive to inherit a portfolio of accounts. The make-up of this portfolio can be tweaked to suit the successful candidate’s skills, experience and ambitions. Depending on your expertise, clients could come from a range of industry sectors and individual accounts could generate between £30K - £100K each. Many clients have complex international exposures, and you may look after the UK operations of businesses that are head quartered elsewhere, including world-leading blue chip brands.

The focus in this role is very much on the management of existing accounts. Your duties will include, but by no means be limited to, building an understanding of clients’ businesses and designing insurance programmes that appropriately mitigate their exposures to risk, linking in with colleagues from specialist areas of the business where necessary, negotiating with Underwriters, and producing accurate reports and documentation.

Our client is eager to hear from seasoned veterans of the corporate market, as well as those who are currently excelling in the middle market and are confident in their ability to deal with more complex risks. It is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, and have ideally made some progress towards professional qualifications under the CII. As you will be dealing at board level with companies that typically have a turnover of between £25M - £800M, it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and can build a sound professional rapport with senior personnel from clients from a wide range of industry sectors.
