This is a superb chance for a gifted insurance professional to play a leading part in the management of some of the most complex accounts handled from the North West, including a number of risks that each generate several hundred thousand pounds in income.
This global broking house controls the largest portfolio of clients in the North West, including some of the region’s best-known PLC’s and privately-held businesses. It is known for its culture of developing staff and offering a variety of opportunities for progression; in fact, this role has come about through the internal promotion of an incumbent Senior Corporate Broker.
You will be dealing with a varied portfolio of clients, including both reverse flow business and UK domiciled accounts that have complex global exposures. Clients are from a range of industry sectors such as Petrochemical, Tech, Healthcare and Manufacturing. You will work in close conjunction with Account Executives and Account Directors, and be responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of corporate clients. This will include preparing renewals, scrutinising programmes to ensure clients are adequately covered, and negotiating with insurers. You will also ensure that clients utilise the full suite of products and services on offer by working with colleagues from specialist teams to ensure a robust insurance programme is designed that mitigates all exposures to risk. As a senior member of the team, you will also be expected to assist with less-experienced colleagues’ development, and also act as a technical referral point on an ad hoc basis.
It is essential that you have significant experience within corporate broking, including dealing with complex global accounts and risks that generate fees in excess of £50K. As you would expect, this means you will be comfortable dealing with clients from a wide range of industry sectors and have exposure to all common commercial covers. You must have excellent communication and report writing skills, and be comfortable dealing with senior personnel from multi-million pound turnover businesses.
