A superb opportunity to join one of the most respected corporate broking practices in the North of England, handling a small number of high value clients.
As you will be working closely with several Account Directors who are recognised as being amongst ‘the best in the business’, this role will surely appeal to ambitious insurance professionals who wish to be ‘shown the ropes’ from those at the top of the game. Of course, we recognise that not everyone wants to progress beyond this position, so we also welcome applications from those who wish to remain working in a Corporate Account Handler capacity for the longer-term.
Here, you will assume control of the day-to-day management of a portfolio of corporate clients, the largest of which command fee income well in excess of £50K. As you would expect, your clients will have complex insurance requirements, and a number will have global exposures. Clients are from a range of industries, including Property, Construction (including Bonds) and Plant.
The Directors in question pride themselves on the service they offer their clients, and accordingly are quite demanding in terms of the quality of work they expect from their Account Handler. You will be expected to produce high quality, detailed and accurate reports in a timely fashion. As you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the accounts handled in order to design an insurance programme that mitigates the risks faced, you will be able to enjoy a high level of client contact than may be expected in competing corporate broking roles.
Whilst it is not a prerequisite that you have previously dealt with similar £50K income cases, it is essential that you have a knowledge of all common commercial covers and ideally have had exposure to some ‘bigger ticket’ middle-market risks. It is envisioned that you will have made significant progress towards professional qualifications, although this is not essential for exceptional candidates. You must be well-organised, meticulous and with a keen eye for detail. As you will be dealing at board level with some of the regions’ largest firms, you must be highly professional, confident in your approach and have exceptional communication skills.
In return, you will receive a basic salary that is anticipated to be up to circa £40K (completely negotiable for outstanding candidates). You will also receive a comprehensive range of company benefits, including support towards CII exams and memberships.
