This brand-new role exists with a leading global broker that specialises in insurance, risk management and consulting services within the corporate arena. Working for the company’s established Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) team, you will be involved with high profile Mergers and Acquisitions throughout the North of England.

You be responsible for cultivating relationships with the likes of Legal Practices, Private Equity Houses and Business Advisory firms, with a view to ensuring that the company is appointed as the W&I insurance broker on M&A transactions. Whilst you will be working with both the Leeds and London office, your focus will very much be on targeting deals in the North of England, predominantly along the M62 corridor.

This is very much a relationship-led role, and a great deal of your time will involve networking with both existing and prospective business partners, attending and running events, and arranging corporate hospitality days. In fact, as an accomplished relationship developer, you will be given a great deal of autonomy to attract customers as you see fit, together with a formidable marketing budget.

You’ll be on your front foot and proactive when it comes to spotting opportunities, and you’ll maintain a close relationship with your professional network in order to remain broker of choice in the M&A arena.

Whilst this position does very much have a new business focus, it also has other interesting responsibilities, which will include working with Marketing Team on ‘Thought Leadership’ pieces, as well as helping to promote and communicate the national W&I offering throughout the corporate market.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who currently work in the Legal sector, who would like to transition into an insurance position. Perhaps you are currently a Solicitor, who is frustrated that the only way you can enhance your income is via increasing your billable hours? Or perhaps you would like some more flexibility and autonomy, which this company is able to provide in abundance. In fact, there are no set rules in terms of when you need to attend the office, and flexible working / part-time hours can be accommodated for the right person.

Whilst this company certainly has an enviable list of clients and partnerships, it is essential that you have a strong professional network of M&A introducers in the North, and you’ll be well-known in the deal origination circles. It is also of paramount importance that you are naturally gregarious, with well-honed networking and relationship management skills. You’ll be self-motivated and hungry to develop new business, and have a track record of doing so in a previous M&A / W&I-related role. Last but not least, you’ll be a first-class communicator, with the ability to conduct effective presentations to audiences of discerning lawyers and corporate accountants / financiers.

You’ll be rewarded with an attractive salary of up to £90K (Negotiable “to attract the best”), together with a lucrative performance-related bonus, car allowance and wider corporate benefits.
