Opportunities for an experienced Account Handler to secure a Trainee Corporate Account Executive position such as this are extremely rare. In fact, we can count on one hand - the number of these that we’ve seen over the last few years.

As a result of ongoing growth, this world-leading, corporate insurance broker has an opening for an ambitious and client-focused insurance broker to join its top-performing team.

There are few operators in the corporate broking market that can rival this company’s offering, which is why its enviable client list includes some of the world’s best-known household name organisations.

Benefitting from one of the top training and development programmes in the industry, you will be fully supported to transition into a client-facing Account Executive position. Your training will include shadowing existing Account Executives and Directors, as well as attending comprehensive training courses, both internal and external.

Ultimately, you will inherit a book of corporate business comprising clients from a wide range of industry sectors, including but not limited to, Property, Hospitality, IT and Construction. The account will be tailored to your specific experience, strengths and aspirations, but you can expect to be dealing with somewhere in between 8 - 20 clients including UK corporates and global inward accounts.

You’ll be looking after companies with a turnover typically in excess of £50 million and in most cases, you’ll be dealing directly with Finance Directors and Company Secretaries, as opposed to In-House Insurance Teams. As such, this role will give you real ownership of your accounts, and a heightened level of exposure in comparison to other corporate insurance teams, where Account Executives can often be more of an ‘administrative cog in a large machine.’

As expected, you’ll be supported by a highly competent broking team, who will handle your administrative requirements, and you will also have access to a wide range of product experts throughout the organisation, who will be able to assist you with any particular specialist insurance needs.

It is essential that you have experience of dealing with large clients and that you are a truly consultative operator; someone who can identify clients’ specific challenges and issues, and find a way to solve these. The Director cites, “We are not looking for sales people – we are looking for an Account Manager with a commercial mind.” Whilst you will be dealing with a range of general corporate covers, fundamentally, your technical insurance knowledge will at least need to cover, Property, Liability and Motor, as a minimum.

You can enjoy working for a business that fully embraces agile-working, and as such, this comes with the opportunity to work from home and the office, as you see fit. Having said that, because you will be the lead on key accounts, you will be required to attend some internal meetings, in line specific with projects’ requirements.

You will be rewarded with a competitive basic salary and performance-related bonus, together with one of the industry’s most impressive flexible-benefits packages. You will also enjoy working for a business that, “truly opens doors”, where you will have access to a huge amount of career development opportunities, both nationally and globally.
