A superb opportunity has arisen to join a global broker and assume control of a long-standing £600K income corporate portfolio, including several regional ‘trophy accounts.’
This branch is performing tremendously, and is set to announce yet another year of close to double-digit growth. Indeed, it is as a result of this sustained period of growth that this role has come about – the Branch MD and several Corporate Account Executives need to pass on some established accounts to a ‘safe pair of hands’, to free their time in order to focus on growing the business elsewhere. Clients are from a range of industry sectors, but there is a bias towards Cambridgeshire’s booming Tech sector, as well as the East Anglian Food & Beverage industry (Manufacturers, Suppliers & Distributors). As one would expect from a global broker, whilst the majority of the branch’s clients are UK domiciled, many have extensive global exposures requiring coordination with colleagues and partner brokers overseas.
This is a stable branch staffed with highly technical insurance professionals, run by an MD who is focused on the development of colleagues; ensuring that they are engaged, challenged and progressing towards their ambitions. As a global, it has an extensive array of products and services to help its client mitigate risks, protect their balance sheet, and grow revenue that will surely appeal to those Account Executives who are frustrated by the limited conversations they can have with clients at their current employer.
To ensure a smooth transition, you will benefit from a warm and ongoing handover to your clients. With the assistance of a dedicated team of Corporate Account Handlers, you will continue to ensure that all of your clients’ insurance programmes reflect their appetite for risk, and where gaps in cover exist, you’ll suggest innovative solutions to mitigate these, working with colleagues from specialist teams, where necessary. The focus on this role is very much on the management of existing accounts, and once you are settled into the role, any modest target for growth should be easily achieved organically and by cross-selling ancillary covers.
Whilst we are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have exposure to dealing with corporate and global accounts, we do welcome applications from outstanding candidates who are currently working in a commercial / middle-market environment and are confident in their ability to deal with more complex risks. As you would expect, it is essential that you have an expert knowledge of all common commercial covers, and the ability to build a strong professional rapport with C-Suite personnel from clients from a range of industries.
