As such, the need has arisen to appoint several new members of staff to help ensure that the business continues to deliver the exemplary levels of client service that it so well-known for offering. Specifically, it is looking for Corporate Account Executives to inherit a substantial portfolio of risks, as well as Corporate Account Handlers to play a key part in the ongoing management of these clients.
The branch arranges insurance on behalf of a wide variety of clients, from firms currently generating relatively modest brokerage but on an extremely steep growth trajectory with ambitions to be listed on the AIM, through to long-established corporate behemoths paying six-figure fees. The portfolio includes a large number of global risks, including both UK-domiciled and reverse-flow accounts. Clients are from a broad selection of industry sectors such as Property Owners, Motor Trade and Food & Beverage, but there is somewhat of a bias towards clients from within the Oil, Gas and Energy sectors. With such a broad selection of clients within the branch portfolio, this broker can allocate accounts according to your skills, experience and ambitions. For example, seasoned Account Executives could inherit a portfolio generating in excess of £500K fees, within individual clients typically being globals generating fees above £50K. However, less-experienced Exec’s (or indeed Account Handlers seeking their first move into a client-facing role) could initially be gifted a smaller portfolio of less complex risks. Similarly, Account Handlers could be tasked with looking after any areas of interest or specialism (such as Real Estate & Construction, or middle market risks), then look to increase their exposure to other client types as they grow within the role.
This broker is a big advocate of flexible-working, and you will be provided with all the tools to allow you to be able to work remotely the vast majority of the time - only checking into the office once or twice a week (potentially even less often, for experienced candidates living further from the office).
For either the Account Executive or Account Handler roles, this broker is quite flexible regarding necessary experience, welcoming applications from candidates from commercial broking, claims or underwriting backgrounds. Equally, whilst it’s important that you have some knowledge of common commercial covers, it is not necessary that this extends to dealing with corporate cases and we are keen to hear from middle market and commercial insurance professionals who want to gain exposure to more complex clients.
