As a result of continued growth, this major global broking house seeks a talented Corporate /Commercial Account Handler to join its Birmingham office.
There really are few firms in the industry that can give people exposure to such fascinating, high-profile clients and insurance programmes, as well as the opportunity to work alongside some of the most gifted insurance professionals in the UK.
Upon joining the team, you will be allocated a portfolio of clients that can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and ambitions. Industry sectors may include, but certainly not be limited to, Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Technology, Professional Services / Consulting and Construction, including some with international exposures.
Working in close conjunction with several Corporate Account Directors, you will develop a detailed knowledge of the clients within your portfolio in order to understand their exposures to risk, and designing an insurance programme that best mitigates these. You will provide a high level of support in the ongoing administration of these programmes, including undertaking any mid-term amendments, preparing for renewals and, where appropriate, conducting re-broking exercises.
In order to take advantage of the wealth of in-house services and facilities on offer, you must build a sound understanding of this global broker’s wider business and which teams (including those based overseas) can best help create an unrivalled service. You will be expected to produce a variety of reports and associated documentation in a professional and timely fashion. As you would expect, you must also be comfortable negotiating with insurers to secure the most comprehensive cover at a competitive price.
Ideally, you will have a demonstrable track record of handling corporate cases, although our client will also consider talented and ambitious candidates from a commercial background, who are ready to move into corporate. As a minimum, you must be comfortable dealing with reasonably-sized commercial Property & Liability / Commercial Combined risks. Given the nature of your clientele, you must be highly professional, articulate and have excellent communication skills. You must also be extremely thorough and diligent in your approach, with a keen eye for detail.
This world-leading business offers an unrivalled training and development programme and will be focussed on your professional development from day one. For the ambitious, it is worth noting that the leaders within this office are well-known for supporting the development of their team, and a number of former employees have been able to pursue fantastic senior roles within the group after working in this team.
In return, you will receive a competitive basic salary (Negotiable, depending on experience), plus a very generous pension, support towards professional qualifications under the CII, and a range of flexible benefits.
You’ll also benefit from a hybrid-working arrangement, allowing you to work a couple of days a week from home, should you so wish.
