“We’re very much a service-lead business, and pride ourselves on giving our Account Handlers free reign to assist their clients as they see fit – no matter how large or small, you manage your portfolio as wish”, so says the MD of this independent broker.

Having entered its second generation of ownership, this family-run firm is clearly enjoying a tremendous period of growth and has recently moved into fantastic new offices in Mirfield town centre close to all the shops, rail station, bus routes and amenities, and with extensive free parking seconds away!

This role differs from many other Commercial Account Handler or Broker roles, as clients do not have Account Executives overseeing their programme – you will be allocated a portfolio of SME and commercial clients based all over the country, and you will effectively act as a ‘Desk-Top Account Executive’ managing all elements of your portfolio of clients’ arrangements. This includes dealing with mid-terms amendments, preparing renewals and answering any day to day enquires that may arise.

Clients come from a range of industry sectors such as Property Owners, Retail and Leisure, and typically have premium spends up to £5,000. With the focus being on servicing existing clients, you will not be targeted on developing new business.
***We welcome applications from candidates seeking a variety of working patterns, both full and part-time (either working shorter days every day, 9am – 5pm several days per week, or perhaps a combination of the two). There is also the potential to work from home for a portion of your working week.***

It is essential that you have a sound knowledge of commercial insurance, gained in either a broking or underwriting environment. Ideally, you will also have experience of the Acturis broking platform. You should have good communication skills (written and verbal) be highly numerate, and have excellent attention to detail. You must also be a team player who shares this broker’s client-centric ethos.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary, and a comprehensive benefits package, including support towards professional qualifications under the CII. For the ambitious, you will be glad to know the management team is keen to ‘promote from within’, so you will benefit from a myriad of opportunities for progression and development.
