Our client is seeking an Account Handler / Account Manager to join its Corporate Department in a senior capacity. Here, you will be responsible for working closely with a Director, servicing a small portfolio of complex accounts, including a number of £100K income cases. These clients come from a variety of industry sectors, such as Technology, Manufacturing and Life Sciences. The majority of these clients are UK domiciled with complex overseas exposures, and the Corporate Department also looks after reverse-flow accounts.

You will build a detailed knowledge of your clients, their business activities and exposures to risks. Scrutinising their insurance programmes, you will ensure that risks are adequately covered, and where gaps in cover exist, work with colleagues to develop innovative, cost-effective ways to mitigate these. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of reports and documentation, and play a leading role in preparing for renewals. Whilst there are no management responsibilities per se, as a senior member of the team, you may be called upon to provide ad hoc support to less-experienced colleagues and get involved in a variety of interesting projects and helping with things like insurer relations. Whilst by no means mandatory, you will get the opportunity to undertake some international travel to visit clients’ overseas operations, if desired.

Whilst you need not have previously dealt with six-figure income cases, it is essential that you have experience of dealing with corporate risks, and that you understand the nuances of global insurance programmes. As you would expect, you should have a good understanding of all common commercial covers, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and you’ll well-organised with a keen eye for detail.

We anticipate that this role will pay £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, however there is certainly scope to increase this for outstanding candidates.
