This broking giant has been established in Manchester for many years, and controls one of the North West’s largest portfolios of corporate clients – from blue chip PLC’s to some of the region’s best known privately-owned companies. Whilst this dynamic firm has 200 employees based in Manchester, this role sits within a specialist team of 6, comprising 3 Account Executives, 2 Account Handlers and 1 Claims Handler. As such, this is a highly visible role where your successes will be visible to all. This team looks after clients paying fees up to £200K, but more commonly between £10K and £100K. They arrange the full suite of commercial covers on behalf of a valued portfolio of clients from a wide range of industry sectors such as Manufacturing, Leisure, Retail and Hospitality.

This role has come about due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, and as such, you will inherit a portfolio of longstanding clients. The size, complexity and general make-up of these accounts can be tweaked to suit your skills, experiences and ambitions, however, the portfolio could certainly exceed £200K in fee income. Accordingly, we welcome applications from corporate and mid-market insurance professionals dealing with similarly sized risks, or those who are currently dealing with sub £10K income cases who are confident in their ability to deal with larger risks.

You must be inquisitive, and pride yourself on your ability to build a thorough understanding of your clients’ businesses and the issues that affect them. Whilst this is by no means a sales role, it is essential that you are comfortable identifying potential gaps in cover and cross / up-selling additional lines to mitigate these. It is also essential that you have excellent communication skills, and are able to effectively manage relationships with clients and stakeholders from all walks of life. You must be able to produce a range of reports and associated documentation in an accurate and easy to understand fashion. As one would expect, you must have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers.
