When the biggest firms in the US suffer a major loss, it can make front page news across the globe. This is a rare chance to play a key role in obtaining satisfactory conclusion to claims on behalf of some of the largest and best-known firms on the planet.

This boutique practice has forged an enviable reputation across North America as the ‘go to’ intermediary for London Market placement for several niches, and now arranges the a significant portion of US based business placed into London.

Accordingly, it has handles a number of losses originating in the US and for US domiciled businesses that are placed into the London Market. Due to the continued acquisition of blue chip clients (many of which have significant financial lines exposures), the need has arisen for an additional Financial Lines Claims Advocate to join the team.

Here, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of losses spanning the Financial Lines niche, albeit biased towards Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers claims. This is a highly technical role; much more involved than similar-sounding roles at some competing brokers – operating at C-suite level, you will dictate and present the best claims resolution strategy, performing analysis of coverage related issues, as well as providing guidance on coverage. You will use your negotiation and influencing skills to secure your clients the best possible outcome in the event of a loss, keeping all stakeholders abreast of all developments throughout the claim lifecycle.

It is essential that you have a solid understanding of Financial Lines claims, although this can be gained in a broking, adjusting, insurer or legal environment. Ideally this will include a knowledge of the London Market claims handling protocol and processes (including being proficient in the use of ECF and Class etc). You must also have excellent communication, stakeholder-management and internal networking skills, including the ability to forge strong relationships with colleagues and partners based in the United States. You should also have excellent analytical skills, and be able to interpret and relay various MI, such as claims trends etc.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary plus bonus and a flexible- benefits package that can be tweaked to suit your personal circumstances, including a market-leading pension arrangement.
