“Been there – done that” - Having already built up and sold one of the UK’s best- known independent, multi-site brokerages, resulting in a high profile £8-figure exit, it’s fair to say this firm’s Board of Directors know how to run a successful brokerage!

Backed by their own funds, this entrepreneurial management team have no external shareholders to satisfy, allowing them to focus on what they do best; delivering client service par excellence! This is clearly paying dividends, and in 5 short years, it has grown significantly in terms of the acquisition of quality accounts and personnel, and already has a foot print in several location across the country.

As part of its strategic growth plans, the company has opened a new Midlands office close to Nottingham. This is a superb opportunity to join a brokerage in its relative infancy and really ‘make the role your own’, but without the concerns regarding finances or stability that can be associated with other recently established businesses.

As Account Handler, you will provide a high level of support to the Branch Director, dealing with a variety of cases varying in size and complexity.
This will mainly be cases generating brokerage income of £10,000 - £50,000, with some notable exceptions much larger than this and, as you may expect, the occasional connected SME case. Clients could be from a wide range of industry sectors, such as Construction, Manufacturing, Property Owners or Waste / Recycling.

Whilst we are certainly keen to hear from Senior Account Handlers who have experience of dealing with such large and complex cases outlined above, we also welcome applications from less-experienced Account Handlers and Brokers who can help with policy administration and processing, as a lot of the ‘heavy lifting’ can be done by colleagues at the Group Head Office in the early days. Hower, it is essential that you have a good understanding of all common commercial covers and are comfortable dealing with clients from all walks of life, and any industry sector. You should also be well-organised, with excellent task management skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload. Knowledge of the Acturis broking platform would certainly be advantageous.

This forward thinking broker is a big advocate of modern-working practices, and you will be welcome to work remotely for a large portion of your working week, if desired.

As you would expect from a firm that is enjoying such an impressive growth trajectory, this role comes with a myriad of opportunities for progression. For example, it is entirely feasible in the short to medium-term that you could move into a managerial role or client-facing, Account Executive style position.

You will benefit from a highly competitive basic salary that is anticipated to be between £35,000 - £45,000 (but certainly negotiable for outstanding candidates), a generous bonus, plus one of the best benefits packages you will see at an independent broker (more akin to those found with global brokers). You will also receive 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays) a year, and in addition to these, this company is well-known for taking all its staff on all expenses paid weekends away at places like Ibiza or the Algarve.
