On an impressive growth trajectory, this office has consistently delivered double-digit growth recently in terms of commission and fee income, and in recent years, has doubled its headcount. Following yet another successful year, and the acquisition of quality accounts, the need has arisen for several new members of staff to join the friendly and supportive Commercial Broking Unit. These include:

•An SME Account Handler or Broker to join the team as a Desk-Top Account Executive. Here, you will be responsible for running your own portfolio of cases (typically those generating less than £2,000 commission income) that do not have a client-facing Account Executive leading the account. As such, you will be ‘the lead’ on this portfolio, responsible for the ongoing management of all clients – including overseeing the renewal process.

•Other roles include Commercial and Corporate Account Handlers. In these positions, you will be responsible for assisting Account Executives and Directors in the management of a portfolio of miscellaneous commercial / middle-market clients. Depending on your ambitions and experience, these could range in size and complexity, from £5,000 commission, through to corporate cases paying fees well in excess of £25,0000.

Depending on the role applied for, you will need an appropriate level of experience, including a sound basic knowledge of common commercial insurance covers. You should also be a team player, who enjoys working to shared goals and objectives. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and are able to build strong rapport with stakeholders from all walks of life. You should also have excellent task-management skills, be well-organised, and have a keen eye for detail.
