This prestigious international insurance company is looking to appoint an experienced Motor Claims Engineer to join its highly successful team in Leeds city centre.

Reporting directly to the Senior Motor Engineer, you will vet motor repair estimates and invoices to confirm legitimacy and assess cost implications for each file. In addition, you will negotiate, agree and authorise repair estimates, directly with approved repairers. In the event of a valuation dispute, you will investigate and provide valuations in order for the Claims Team to resolve all losses in a technically competent manner, ensuring settlements are at optimum costs. You will also be used as a technical referral point and contribute to improving and enhancing the Team’s collective knowledge, identifying any training needs. To ensure standards and SLA’s are achieved/ exceeded, you will audit the competencies and performance of service providers and specialists networks. There may be a need for you to physically examine motor vehicles and provide suitable reports. You shall also seek opportunities to minimise Credit Hire spend and cases of potential fraud.
It is essential that you have significant experience of working in claims and/ or Motor Engineer departments, with a proven track record of being able to assess repairs and authorise estimates. It would be advantageous if you held relevant engineering qualifications, such as IMI, IAEA, VDA or ATA. In addition, you will have a sound educational background, coupled with excellent investigative, negotiation and communication skills.
