Our client is a leading insurance business based in West Yorkshire that is looking to appoint a Technical Underwriter to help support the development of its underwriting portfolio. This business handles over £100M GWP, dealing predominantly in ancillary lines Motor products, and is highly regarded throughout Europe.
You will support a team of Underwriting Managers that take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, and underwrite and manage effective insurance schemes entailing a number of niche lines. Working in conjunction with the Actuarial and Pricing team, you will make recommendations on pricing and technical changes that need to be implemented. You will also help ensure that products are designed with the customer in mind, and that they offer value for money, and are fully compliant. You will be working with various stakeholders including Marketing, Compliance and Sales teams to ensure the maximum up-take of products from the end consumer.
You must have a good degree of underwriting experience, with strong numerical ability. You will ideally have a background in developing schemes business, or reviewing an underwriting account from a portfolio perspective. Our client is open to candidates from any insurance product discipline, as full training will be provided on these specialist lines. Importantly, you must be an impressive communicator and presenter, with the ability to liaise effectively with senior stakeholders of blue-chip companies.
