With a client list spanning blue light accounts such as Police Authorities, NHS Trusts and Fire Rescue Services, through to white collar risks such as Universities, Academies and Trust schools, it’s fair to say no two days will be the same in the specialist division of this Global.
As an Account Handler, yours will be a key role in the management of a portfolio of Public Sector accounts. Working in close conjunction with the Broking Manager and Account Executives/ Directors, you will build a detailed understanding of each client and the unique risks that they face.
Whilst developing an insight into how Public Sector bodies operate, you will build a sound level of professional rapport with key stakeholders and be on hand to deal with any day to day questions about their insurance programmes. You will also deal with any mid-term amendments arising within the portfolio and, where necessary, suggest any improvements to cover that can be made to reflect changes within the business. In addition, your negotiation and report writing skills will be called upon as part of any renewal/ rebroking exercises.
Whilst the ideal candidate will have had some exposure to Public Sector accounts, this is by no means essential. What is a prerequisite however, is a detailed knowledge of all common commercial covers (Property, Liability, Fleet, Financial Lines etc.) and some experience of dealing with larger and more complex accounts. It is anticipated that you will have made significant progress towards professional qualifications although, again, this is not a deal-breaker.
