Due to the ongoing acquisition of quality accounts, this leading independent seeks to add to its Broking Unit with two key hires.
Having enjoyed significant increase in business across its commercial and corporate portfolios, it seeks a Commercial Handler and Senior/ Corporate Handler. Depending on experience, the Commercial Handler could come into the business at several levels; either joining the Small Business Unit dealing with (typically package business) accounts paying premiums up to £5K, or the Commercial Unit dealing with clients with premium spends up to £20K. The Corporate Handler will be dealing with the business’ larger risks, including numerous six figure premium cases. There is scope for the Corporate Handler to join in a senior position and assume additional duties, effectively acting as an understudy to the Team Leader. Here, duties could include acting as a technical referral point to less experienced colleagues, allocating workloads and helping with operations etc.
In either instance, you will be dealing with a wide variety of companies an array of industry sectors. For example, the Corporate Unit manages the insurance of some of the region’s most prestigious, long-established names, alongside ‘up and coming’ fast growing firms from the worlds of Media & Tech.
Whilst some commercial insurance knowledge is a prerequisite, as this is a relatively fluid recruitment assignment our client is willing to consider applications from experienced Commercial / Corporate Handlers and Brokers of all levels. That said, those aspiring to join the Corporate Unit should have made some progress towards professional qualifications under the CII, or can demonstrate a genuine commitment to doing so in the near future.
Whilst packages are negotiable, the Commercial and Corporate roles are anticipated to pay up to circa £30K and £40K respectively, both with a comprehensive array of company benefits and ample, free local parking. Our client is keen to encourage all staff to undertake professional qualifications and, accordingly, will provide financial support in this regard.
