Headed by a well-known insurance professional, and in recent years moving away from its former Appointed Representative status to become ‘directly authorised’, this thriving broking house is clearly going places.
As a result of this growth, it seeks an Account Handler to join the team and this is likely to be a senior appointment. As an example, you will work in close conjunction with the Managing Director and Office Manager; helping less experienced colleagues in their absence and acting as a technical referral point.
You will be providing a high level of broking support to a varied portfolio of clients, ranging from SME’s through to middle market, and even some larger accounts paying six figure premiums. Clients are from a wide range of industry sectors, both blue and white collar, and could be based locally in Wigan, across the North of England, or even further afield!
You will be responsible for dealing with mid-term amendments, general policy enquiries, preparing renewal documentation and negotiating with insurers. As such, you must have a keen eye for detail and have excellent negotiation and communication skills.
You will also have a sound understanding of the insurance requirements of firms from a range of industry sectors, and exposure to handling the full suite of commercial covers.
Ideally, this will extend to clients paying premiums over £10K, however, we do welcome applications from those candidates who currently transact SME cases but are confident in their ability to deal with more complex risks.
