It has invested significantly in its infrastructure, such as establishing its own MGA, and developing state of the art IT systems that allow it to obtain comprehensive covers at competitive premiums, in record time.
Due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, the need has arisen for a Commercial Broker to join the Team. Here, you will be focused on SME Wholesale business, with clients coming from a wide range of industry sectors (Property Owners, Manufacturing, Leisure etc), each typically paying premiums up to £20K. On an average month, you will be allocated 20-30 renewals per month and your job will be to ensure that accounts are retained. After conducting thorough fact finds and building a sound understanding of the risk you will place business either in the in-house Binder, MGA or into the Lloyds / London market.
Whilst this role is very much focused on the management of an established panel of brokers and the retention of existing business, for those candidates motivated by money, there is a very generous bonus scheme on offer that will reward you should you be able to generate new business through new or existing brokers.
Ideally you will be from a Wholesale or Lloyd’s Broking environment, although we will consider applications from outstanding candidates from a more traditional ‘non City’ brokerage. It is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, including Property, Liability, Combined, Commercial Fleet, etc. You must have a real trader’s mentality, excellent communication skills and confidence in your ability to effectively negotiate with a variety of stakeholders whilst still building meaningful relationships.
In return, alongside the lucrative bonus outlined above, you will receive a generous basic salary (anticipated to be around £25K-35K, but completely negotiable for outstanding candidates) and a range of comprehensive company benefits, including support towards professional qualifications. Indeed, it is entirely feasible that outstanding candidates could be promoted to the Board within a few years.
