You will have responsibility for the underwriting of Property/ Combined risks, in line with the company’s underwriting appetite. You will deal with a varied portfolio of risks, including some niche areas of work, such as Engineering. As well as this, you will be tasked with building strong relationships with your panel to ensure that you are gaining business to satisfy the new business targets within the company strategy.
It is essential that you have a demonstrable track record of underwriting Property business, whether standalone or Commercial Combined. You will be confident in dealing with brokers, prospecting for new business where appropriate, and delivering against revenue targets. This is an entrepreneurial business that is always looking for ways to write business rather than decline it, so it is essential that you have a proactive outlook to underwriting and a desire to succeed. Finally, you must not be averse to change as this will be a regular occurrence within the business.
