Due to continued expansion and ongoing success, this major UK broking organisation has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Account Executive in the North Yorkshire area.
My client is one of the leaders in the UK general insurance market, offering a wealth of competitive products and strong buying power, as well as some of the most talented professionals in the insurance industry.
Initially, you will be working within the Small Business Team, dealing with clients paying under £10K premium. Most of these leads will be generated via the Lead Generator within the office, however you will be encouraged to be proactive in developing new clients.
Your duties will include identifying your clients’ specific insurance requirements, accessing a competitive quotation from a range of markets, and ultimately closing the sale. You will provide cover for a wide range of commercial products including, but not limited to, Commercial Property Owners, Landlords, Shops, Offices, Retailers, Tradesmen, Manufacturers and Distributors. The quotation software that you will be using is predominantly system driven and straight forward to use, enabling you to secure cover quickly and efficiently.
Where the prospect is local, you will be encouraged to visit them to build a strong relationship in order to secure their business. Also, you will gain exposure to larger risks and ultimately become an Account Executive; this will be with the help of the Branch Director, via shadowing him and other Senior Executives’ meetings.
It is essential to the role that you have some previous exposure to commercial insurance. Just as importantly, you will have a passion for winning new business and proven success within a commercial insurance sales environment. Previous broking experience would certainly be preferable, although strong Underwriters with a new business focus will be considered.
