As a result of ongoing growth, an exciting position has arisen for a Commercial Account Handler to join the London Market division of an independent national broker.

This City office allows the firm’s regional branches access to the Lloyd’s and London company markets and caters for a wide variety of risks including, but certainly not limited to, Property Owners, High Risk Liability, Professional Indemnity and niche Leisure covers.

The Branch Director describes the range of business they cover as from “the relatively straight-forward, through to the weird and wonderful.” As such, this is a terrific opportunity to gain very broad experience across some fascinating industry sectors.

Duties will include preparing Lloyd’s and company documentation (slips/ MRC’s, risk presentations, renewal invitations, invoices, cover notes and policy documents), as well as general administrative duties. You will also be preparing and submitting bordereaux to insurers, logging new business enquiries, and producing management reports. In this office-based role, you will be in regular contact with Underwriters, as well as internal Brokers and third party intermediaries on a wholesale basis.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience from a broking environment, with knowledge of the fundamental commercial covers i.e. Property and Liability. It would also be highly advantageous if you have previous experience of using the Acturis broking platform. Crucially, you will possess a strong administrative ability, and first-class communication skills in order to converse effectively with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.

Whilst this business is an incredibly successful, national concern, it is not a blue-chip corporation and therefore you will enjoy working for a very ‘nimble’ organisation where you will gain invaluable ‘hands on’ experience as opposed to being a small cog in a corporate machine.
