This is a rare opportunity to join a highly prestigious, boutique Yacht insurance brokerage as a specialist Account Handler / Executive.
This firm has strong connections across the globe and insures a wide range of boats and marine-related risks.
The firm has its own in-house scheme, however, you will be responsible for broking the risks that fall outside of this scheme’s parameters. Liaising with a range of open market insurers, you will source suitable cover for your clients. In this varied role, duties will include handling new business enquiries, dealing with renewals and processing MTAs, as well as dealing with general client enquiries. Typically, you’ll be dealing with Yachts with values over £250K and perhaps as high as £3M. As such, you’ll enjoy arranging the insurance for some fascinating cases!
You must have previous experience within the broking market, dealing with a range of insurers. Whilst Yacht broking experience would be ideal, my client is flexible on this. Because Yacht insurance is effectively a personal lines product, they are open to candidates from a personal lines broking background, although this is likely to be from a mid / high net worth environment involving in-depth and manual interaction with insurers, rather than working on a binder / scheme / computer-driven sourcing system.
Because of the high net worth nature of the clientele, you must have a highly professional telephone manner with strong client relationship management skills. Just as importantly, you’ll be efficient and well-organised, with the ability to multi-task.
You’ll enjoy working in a very friendly and supportive team of circa 10 people, in a refreshing environment that is free from a lot of the bureaucracy that can be found in many of the corporate broking firms.
This is an outstanding chance to get into a fascinating and ultimately, highly lucrative area of the insurance industry.
You’ll be rewarded with an attractive salary (dependent on experience), together with company benefits.
