This broker is renowned locally as being a fantastic place to work; a friendly, team-centric environment where there’s a real sense of camaraderie and working to shared goals and objectives. It has a flat management structure, and the approachable MD is proud of his ‘open door policy’ where all colleagues are welcome to pop in for a chat about their work or homelives.

This is an exciting new role, where you work in close conjunction with one of the Directors, supporting him in the smooth running of his own portfolio. This account generates circa £250K commission and fee income, and comprises long standing clients – often owner-managed businesses and many of whom are personal friends. Clients are from a variety of sectors, such as Property Owners, Motor Trade and Manufacturing. This Director is keen for you to really get ‘under the skin’ of the portfolio and will encourage you to get to know your clients well, which will include attending client visits.

Here, you will be responsible for developing an understanding of your clients’ businesses in order for you to effectively advise them on their insurance programmes. This will include scrutinising their current insurance arrangements, identifying any exposures and, where gaps exist, promoting appropriate cover enhancements. You will administer any mid-term amendments, deal with any client enquiries and negotiate terms with Underwriters. You will also make sure that work is carried with great care and accuracy, and in a fashion that complies with FCA regulations.

It is essential that you have previous experience of working in a similar commercial account handling capacity, as well as a knowledge of all common commercial covers such as Property, Liability, Commercial Combined and Professional Indemnity insurance. You must share this firm’s focus on working as a team, as well as taking a real pride in the quality of your work and possessing a demonstrable passion for giving great client service. Ideally, you will have made some progress towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute, although we welcome applications from those candidates who have chosen not to pursue these.
